As Europe’s political centre, Brussels is one of the biggest office locations with representative premises for politics and business.
On occasion of Austria’s EU Council Presidency, the IG property, which has been home to Austria’s Permanent EU Representation since 1996, was completely redesigned.
Austria’s Permanent Representation in Brussels redesigned
Since 1994, the property Avenue de Cortenbergh 30 in Brussels has been owned by IG Immobilien, a leading player in constructing, running and maintaining properties, both at home and abroad. In spring 2018, on occasion of Austria’s EU Council Presidency, the foreign ministry commissioned modernisation work in the foyer and on first floor of the building. An aesthetically pleasing atmosphere, flexible multifunctional rooms, modern toilets and kitchenettes as well as cosy seating areas now offer a contemporary and representative venue for important meetings and events. Head of the Permanent Representation, ambassador Dr. Nikolaus Marschik, is delighted with the result: “My team and I are deeply grateful that the Austrian EU presidency was used as an opportunity to modernise the foyer and the conference rooms of the Permanent Representation. The rooms are now ideal to host a great number of information events for visiting groups and to hold conferences and meetings with panels of experts.”
Brussels as an important property location
Over the years, IG Immobilien has continually expanded its portfolio of properties in Brussels. Today, these include three properties with attractive office spaces on Avenue de Cortenbergh. In addition, IG owns several residential buildings, so-called small houses or maisons de maître in direct proximity to the EU Commission. “The many important businesses and institutions located in the area – among them, Austria’s Permanent EU Representation and the Austrian Embassy – show how attractive these top locations are. With our three office buildings and numerous apartments in the internationally significant European Quarter, we can offer everything required from a contemporary work and living space,” says IG Immobilien manager Ing. Hermann Klein.
