In the pipeline: affordable living on Wienerberg
In 2020, IG Immobilien will start a new housing project on the premises of the former ice rink Eisring Süd, adjacent to the water tower. Eisring Süd has a long sporting history. We are aiming to improve the area and provide an all-round great quality living space – with modern sports facilities, good infrastructure and, above all, affordable housing.
IG Immobilien is one of four housing developers who – as part of the attractive overall concept by architects Hermann & Valentiny and ZT GmbH – will revitalize the site of the former ice rink: modern terraced houses, lots of open green spaces in between and convenient shopping facilities are all part of the concept. The new compound, with a view of the water tower, is reminiscent of a village green, i.e. featuring a charming central meeting place.
IG is responsible for the design of the building site between Windtenstraße and Gussriegelstraße. 62 apartments in sizes ranging from 38 to 69 m² are to be built here on an area of 1,234 m². 31 garage spaces are also part of the concept. “Am Wasserturm – Wohnen am Wienerberg” is part of the affordable housing programme Wohnbauinitiative 2015. This is the first time IG Immobilien is getting involved in this scheme.
